Feed Denver Aquaponics Prototype @ DHA Sustainability Park
If you've followed us for a while, you know we have issues with traditional greenhouse design. There's got to be a better growing structure for our climate in Denver than the expensive, heavy utility use designs out there. One of our board members, Jim Frasche, of Turn-key Aquaponics, took our complaint to heart and decided to try his hand at creating a better greenhouse structure specifically for aquaponics production. Denver Housing Authority's Sustainability Park project and the Urban Farmers Collaborative generously welcomed our project to their 25th and Lawrence location.
This project will be an aquaponics greenhouse demonstration and research project. We will be experimenting with a variety of methods and technologies as well as a variety of fish and plants. We hope to be operating by October and in full swing by winter. Watch this space, sign up for our newsletter, and we will keep you informed about our progress. The Feed Denver Aquaponics Prototype at Denver Housing Authority's Sustainability Park is a shared project between: Feed Denver Turn-key Aquaponics, and Colorado Aqua Farms. |
