Internship Opportunities - January, 2015

Feed Denver is Seeking Urban Agriculture Interns  
Are you interested in urban farming, local food systems, or creating a more sustainable communities? We are looking for energetic and committed individuals to help forward our mission and assist with our projects while learning about urban agriculture and sustainable communities. These are volunteer positions but we ask your commitment to limited weekly hours and project completion.  

Winter/Spring semester internships begin January 2015. 

Compost and Worm Management Intern 
Get your hands dirty while learning to grow soil and the most important livestock on a farm, worms. This internship will include physical work, record keeping, and creating a business case study.  
Market Produce Intern 
Learn about small and intensive soil based urban farming. This position will include physical work, record keeping, and creating a seasonal production plan. 
Events Management Intern 
Feed Denver will be hosting a regenerative farming symposium and practical skills workshops. This position will include marketing, social marketing projects. You will develop planning and organizing skills. 
Farm Market Intern 
Growing food is fun but selling it makes a business. This position will include assisting farm market vendors while developing marketing and social networking projects. Must be available Sunday mornings (8am-2pm) and some Saturdays. 
Handwork & Projects Intern 
A lot of urban farming relies on hand-build projects from shelving in hoophouses to building an actual hoophouse itself. Raised beds, water harvesting, rocket stoves, and irrigation all require creative individuals who are confident and experienced with tools. This project will require physical work, planning and drawing. Research and team work skills will be developed.
