Sunnyside Farm
at 44th & Vallejo

Closing Oct. 31, 2015

We took another parking lot and created paradise!
With the help of our 2011 Bhutanese Refugee program we built beds from our own handmade soil (compost happens!) and created an oasis in Sunnyside neighborhood.  Within months we were able to set up our market and make fresh organic food available to our community.

In 2012 we grew to include a cooperative of producers - neighbors who grew, canned, or baked joined us in filling out our market offerings.  Our market ran in full force through Christmas!

We closed the market for a few months in early 2013 to build a hoophouse to improve and expand our work.  Using SolaWrap, an industrial bubble wrap skin, we hope to be able to grow strongly year round - with protection from both too much heat and too much cold.

In 2013 Common Grounds Coffeehouse became our neighbor. Now we have fresh coffee while we farm and a very festive farm market!

Our Sunnyside farm is located on a parking lot on the northeast corner of 44th Avenue and Vallejo Street. It is adjacent to Common Grounds Coffeehouse.
