Kate Armstrong
Kate is an Accidental Permaculturist and Urban Forager. She grew up on a small diverse organic farm in the 50's. The skills and knowledge from this childhood are now being used in an urban setting where she teaches 'putting food by', gleaning, foraging and the many uses of 'weeds'. Sustainability is a keen interest, especially when it helps bring communities and small neighborhoods together to create local food sources. Currently she is experimenting with fermenting foods, making her own bread again, and writing her blog: WhatGrandmotherKnew.com. Teaching is one of her passions and she brings broad knowledge and lively curiosity to her subject matter.
